More specific studies of early twentieth factory building as in Joan Skinners "Form and Fancy", an excellent study of Wallis and Gilbert's Albert Kahn influenced architecture in the U.K before the Second World War.

You can also find histories of the car industry as in Joe Cabadas'  book  "River Rouge". a study of Henry Fords' vast car manufacturing plant.
